Not everything the Ghostbusters got called upon to do was necessarily a trap-and-remove job. Paranormal investigation often paid the bills as much as, or even more than, paranormal elimination.

This, however, was ridiculous.

"So let me see if I've got this straight," said Peter to the woman from the Parks Department. "You guys get coyotes in here every so often-"

"Yes, about two or three times a year."

"Uh huh. And you thought you had a whole pack of them this time-"

"Even the people we try to keep out of the park at night don't normally completely empty the dumpsters."

"So you had somebody stay by the dumpster overnight and he saw the trash throwing itself out. Am I right?"

"That's right."

Peter shook his head. "Sounds like a pretty simple poltergeist case to me. We should be able to-"

"Uh, Peter?" Ray interrupted. "Don't finish that sentence."

"Huh? Why not?"

Over by the dumpster in question, Egon was roping off a patch of soft earth. "We've got a footprint," he said without looking up. "It isn't human."

Peter blinked.

"Human feet don't generally come in size twenty-four," Ray said. "And most of the time they don't have this many toes."
