The IBM Supercomputer Benchmarking Plant in Poughkeepsie lies at the center of an enormous corporate campus on the northern side of town. As far as Ray can tell, that's where the really hairy readings were coming from, although he could of course be wrong.

He's about to find out. Ecto pulls to a stop just outside the main entrance to the IBM property. "Are we good?" Ray asks.

The Smith Brothers were once upon a time considered the Beards Who Made Poughkeepsie Famous. In many a world, their old factory has long since shut down and their product is now manufactured in Chicago. Not so here; the same factory continues to operate, churning out lozenges by the gross.

Or they do during the day, anyway. Tonight the place is crawling with security. Who knew that non-prescription cough drops needed so many guardians?

The Culinary Institute of America, as Flynn so astutely put it, is a former Jesuit seminary. As such it's located more towards the IBM corporate campus than any of the other lcations already under inspection. As such, it's rather more remote than the others; one side of the property is bounded by US Highway 9, and the other side overlooks a steep drop down to the Hudson River. The Highway 9 side is all but hidden from the world thanks to trees galore, most of which are conifers, the rest of which are putting on a stunning display of autumn color.

It's some distance from the highway across campus to the old main building, but it's probably simpler than making the assault from the river side....

The Mid-Hudson Civic Center is quite possibly the most mundane-looking building in the city of Poughkeepsie that does not actually have a McDonald's sign on it. To the ordinary eye it looks like an ice skating rink with an awkwardly constructed concert hall of some kind attached.

To the eye of someone practiced in sensing energies of good, evil, or the like, the place is radiating something very definitely not Light Energy- although Light might have been here once before it got twisted.

To the eye of someone Tyler's age and interests, it looks like there's a major World Wrestling Entertainment event scheduled to take place on the premises tomorrow.

The Bardavon Opera House in Poughkeepsie has been in operation since 1869. It's a big, intricate building, located solidly in the middle of town, and on all of Ray's distant PKE scans it shone like a beacon.

Possibly with good reason, since the streets around it are alive with mice.
