OOC for sorting things out for Milliways
Jan. 14th, 2008 11:44 amThere are fourteen Ministers of Extraordinary Threats currently in Milliways!Ray's world, and they are all Benton Fraser. Therefore, they are distinguished as follows:
1. Fraser Prime. This is the Benton Fraser of Mythos Earth. He's missing an eye. Canada is fighting the main forces of the Mi-go and several other varieties of servitor horrors in his world; he had to order the oil sands of Alberta set alight to prevent worse things from happening to points south and west. Good arcane training; had to invoke Yog-Sothoth to get out of his universe and look for one similar to his own to warn.
2. Nightside Fraser. This is the one with the missing leg. He's from the universe of Simon R. Green's Nightside books.
daniidebrabant could tell you much much more about him. He is forbidden from telling people how he lost his leg; it's not good for either national security or their sanity, and there are usually finger puppets involved anyway.
3. Fraser of the Animated Continuum. His universe was located by Fraser Prime and Fraser Nightside. First one to have a technological means of worldhopping- philotic portal technology, which the Canadians had managed to acquire despite the Ghostbusters never publicizing it. Given that it was 2007 when Fraser Prime started worldhopping and one of the other Frasers has noted that by 2007 nearly all known Ghostbusters were either retired or dead, any number of things could've happened.
4. Fraser of the Men in Black Animated Continuum. This one was contacted by the Men in Black from the animated series of that name and given a holo-chip that he was told to get out of the dimension by whatever means was necessary. A few hours after he was given the chip, other Frasers started showing up in his office.
5. Fraser of the Narbonverse. This one became aware of dimensional rippage possibilities near the start of his tenure, largely because his world is crawling with mad scientists. After he methodically went through a list of known mads in his world, he ordered that the Ministry make contact with one at Columbia who specialized in making holes in the universe in order to study the effect, and to study how to seal them back up again. He got very disconcerted when he was shown a picture of Ray Stantz, because Proteus Razrazhatsya (the hole scientist) is not a stable man at all, but Sec'y of Defense Keller talked him down.
6. Fraser of the PS 238 timeline. His dimensional monitors detected Tyler's frequent hops to the same location; he ordered Tyler questioned, which unfortunately translated into kidnapping. His Ministry is one of the best-informed about other universes and is the one that said most universes' Ghostbusters began work in 1984 and were retired or dead by 2007. May or may not have a super or two on staff.
7. Fraser of Sergeant Wells' universe. This one is familiar with worlds butting up against each other due to an extraordinarily poor decision on the part of the English government in 1980 involving the summoning of Daoloth, Render of Veils, but is more focused on things arcane and magical than dimensional horrors. His staff is pathetically small, but his budget went up around the time that the Auton invasion of New Jersey was thwarted.
8. Fraser the Sage of Hell. This one is from Dark Schneider's universe. Thanks to an accidental deal early on in his tenure he's both immortal and affiliated with Hell, but he's still impeccably polite and dedicated to protecting his country (it was part of the accidental deal). He wears robes and keeps his hood up all the time because people get upset about the flaming eyes and stuff. The robes give a very bizarre impression of a Mountie uniform. He wants the Mythos out of his universe because if the Mythos wins, Hell goes poof just as fast as Earth.
9. Fraser of Ray's universe, obviously.
The remaining five Frasers are still up for grabs. NB: there is no Fraser in Ray's universe from the timeline that the Flying Squirrel hails from. She's from an earlier point in history than the Fraser juncture, although the Ministry exists in her time.
