Matt wants to know if Ray actually likes his job. Or failing that, if he ever expected that it would be the job he'd end up doing.

Ray enjoys his job immensely. Not that it's not nerve-wracking and occasionally life-threatening, but he loves it and wouldn't trade it for anything in the world most days.

It is so very, very, very not the one he expected he'd end up doing, though. Never in a million years had he imagined it working out this way. He thought he was going to be a purely academic researcher most of his life- originally possibly a cosmologist, and then some sort of trailblazer of the scientific study of the occult.

Michael was wondering(though they haven't met) about Quinn. If he has plans for what he'll hope to do if and when great scaly DOOOM aka dragons aren't an issue anymore.
Alternatively, what's his favorite sort of story to read or hear.

Oh, whent he great scaly DOOOM is no longer an issue Quinn intends to hand off leadership as soon as possible and stick to teaching the castle's kids. He's had enough of being in charge and more than enough of being in over his head. He never wanted to be a leader or a politician, just an actor; since that's no longer really possible, he wants to make sure that the next generation has at least enough knowledge to decide where to go from here. The past twenty years have taught him rather brutally that the world has changed too much to go back to the way things used to be, and he lives with a sinking feeling that old models of society and development are not going to be of any use at all to the children who grew up hiding from the sky. His generation is- on the bad days, when he thinks about it too much- the equivalent of the Israelites who came out of Egypt and had to die during the wandering in the desert so that the next generation could do what was necessary to live in freedom. However, actual knowledge is still worth passing on, and he can at least do that as much as possible.

As for his favorite sort, he's not all that fussy. Stuff that's unusual, stuff that he hasn't heard a hundred times over in the course of trying to remember, usually makes him quite happy.
