Second Arrival at Milliways + 15 days
Milliways

Wow, has it ever been busy here… in the course of the past week I've met people- well, beings, anyway- from so many different places, times and continuums (continuua?) that I can't even begin to count them. I talked to Dr. McCoy again and gave him a copy of the digital Tobin's, since the Enterprise keeps running into mega-powerful spirit or thought entities that might possibly be related to some of the beasties in there. I interviewed the demon in Warren's old body- why am I not surprised that he works out of New Jersey?- and relayed the information to the Flash. I'm on a . . . I'm officially now on a first-name basis with the greatest Green Lantern ever, Hal Jordan. . . I'm still taken aback by that, really, it's something I don't think ever even occurred to me. Not only has he told me to call him Hal but he asked me whether Milliways matter was scientifically verifiable as real. Hal Jordan asked me for scientific advice about the nature of reality.

And it gets better.

We're still no closer to resolving the Warren / demon issue, although I've worked out a couple of possibilities for recalibrating the proton streams to shock a spirit entity (demonic or otherwise) out of a body that isn't its original. Val's philotics textbook helped with that. I need more input on that before I try anything, though. Either from Egon or from somewhere else, and the somewhere else has presented itself already. There's a being in the bar by the name of Ryo-Ohki. Says she's something called a cabbit. She's shapeshifted twice in front of me so far in a manner that does nothing to set off the PKE meter- apparently it's an inborn property of her species that doesn't access the psychokinetic energy spectrum. She's claimed that she's capable of transforming into a spaceship, which pretty well screws with every known law of mass and energy conservation, but which would be unbelievably impressive if she could actually pull it off. Given that she's offered to not only transform while I’m watching, but take me to meet with an individual named Washuu who's supposedly the smartest being in her native galaxy, I think I may get a nice close and personal look at her demonstration. You don't pass up chances like that. Especially not when you can combine them with the possibility of getting advice on an issue like, yes, the proton streams and the possession thing. I'm also going to be asking Washuu if the smartest person in the galaxy happens to know the wisest person in the galaxy, since there's the question of 'how do we do it' versus 'SHOULD we do it'- and I've also had a request from Eska to ask her about exorcising one spirit from a body that's got two in it already- so… well, I just hope she doesn't charge by the question, that's all.

But I've got to do it quickly, because there are Gallifreyans in the bar and one of them is Romana and she has a working TARDIS. And she wants to know if I want to go along with her for a while as a Companion. I almost turned her down- obligations to people back home- and then, well… right as she was saying she could return me in time to the point in time I left from, or close to it, I tried to think of what I would be telling the guys back home. And you know what? If I pass up an opportunity to see that many worlds, meet that many beings, get that kind of a look at that much technology, I'm just begging for Egon to come after me with an old-fashioned Vulcan dope-slap. Pete might or might not feel the same way, but with Pete you can never really tell whether he's being serious or not. Winston would probably ask more questions than I did- is it safe, have you ever lost a Companion before, how do I know you can get me back to when I left- but I think in the end he might want to go anyway, if only because we really owe him a vacation. Yeah, I'm already on a vacation, but this would be a working one. Scientific research across however many worlds Romana wants to visit? I'm there.

I've got to see Washuu first, though. Meet the smartest being in a galaxy, ask for advice, bring the advice back, then find the Time Lord and take her up on the offer. That sounds about right. I can go home from there- heck, I might even be able to visit home with Romana, if the TARDIS is willing to make that kind of jump. I don't know what she'd think of the place but it's worth a try, right?

I should probably get a new PDA first. One with a lot more storage capacity. And maybe a good digital camera since I don't think most of the worlds out there have stores that sell 35 millimeter. Maybe a Kirlian camera too. I'll make out a list first.

Ever get the feeling that you're burning up your accumulated good karma at a completely unprecedented rate? I should probably worry about that, huh?
