The police in Poughkeepsie, New York, are a pretty competent bunch of people. Not as easily set off as big-city cops, sure, but they do a good job by their charges. And sometimes, they're more observant than anyone might suspect. The word's out about Pennsylvania, after all. Anything that involves the National Guard and what amounts to the Pied Piper in reverse is something that they don't want in their town.

So when one of them spots a Peterbilt truck with out-of-state plates wheeling into town, and later that afternoon spots a small flotilla of strangers checking into the Days Inn, well... he's gonna ask at the front desk, and then he's gonna call bullshit on all of these guys from Illinois supposedly having come all this way to visit the Culinary.

And when he looks down at the sound of a squeak and a crunch and realizes the parking lot is just beginning to crawl with mice? He's gonna call a few people in Pennsylvania, and then he's gonna call his chief, and then, by mutual agreement, they are going to call the Ghostbusters.

Where that truck is he doesn't know, but he wants it gone.

He grins and nods. "You got it."

"I met De Chardin a few times in the twenties," Indy notes. "He showed me around the excavations of Choukoutien right after he discovered Peking Man." He nods to himself. "Nice enough guy. One of the best in his field. I always kinda glad that he wasn't into mine."

That being said, Indy takes a gander at the map.

"The opera house sounds fun."

Indy grins happily and turns to Mel.

"I reckon I need a sidekick. You wanna tag along, Honey Wumpus? It'll be perfect story material for Meg when we get back," he chuckles. "I'll even give you a personal no-singing guarantee."

"Long as you promise never to call me that again," Mel says, running afinger along some apparently random part of the map.

"Sure, sounds Jake. but if anyone gives me roses, I'm bringing the place down."

"Fair enough," Indy concedes, well aware of the opera ghost-related problems Bar Security had faced a few years back. "I get the feeling that ghosts are gonna be the least of our troubles though."

"Heh. Will do, Ray," Indy chuckles.

And with that, he moves out of the way with Mel so others can see the map.

Huh.

*Andrew's studying the map.*

I could take the cough drop factory.

Um ... maybe? Another human might be a good thing too, though.

*hastily* No offense, Francis.

*He reaches out to pat Francis's head, carefully so as not to jam his fingers.*

"I believe I might, yes," she says thoughtfully. "Were you there for the group hug, or not? I don't recall."

This last is, obviously, directed Andrew-wards.

Yeah, I was there for that! It was kind of crowded, though.

Oh, but I remember you - you were telekinetically making stuff explode.

*What? It was impressive.*

"Well, yes." She ducks her head modestly, making an unconscious hand movement towards the shapeless grey bag over her shoulder. (Yes, it's the same one from all the way back then. This bag has been through a lot.) "I had fireworks. Things needed blowing-up."

And then, because it's the logical next step, "Did you mean for me to go with Andrew, then, Ray? I'd be amenable, provided you're certain you don't require my services as a bodyguard."

Yes, she thinks Ray needs her as a bodyguard. The lightsaber and bulletproof robot daughter clearly aren't enough.

"In that case, I see no reason to refrain."

She smiles brightly at Andrew.

"I'm sure we'll have a delightful time of it."
