Oct. 23rd, 2007 11:25 amThe police in Poughkeepsie, New York, are a pretty competent bunch of people. Not as easily set off as big-city cops, sure, but they do a good job by their charges. And sometimes, they're more observant than anyone might suspect. The word's out about Pennsylvania, after all. Anything that involves the National Guard and what amounts to the Pied Piper in reverse is something that they don't want in their town.
So when one of them spots a Peterbilt truck with out-of-state plates wheeling into town, and later that afternoon spots a small flotilla of strangers checking into the Days Inn, well... he's gonna ask at the front desk, and then he's gonna call bullshit on all of these guys from Illinois supposedly having come all this way to visit the Culinary.
And when he looks down at the sound of a squeak and a crunch and realizes the parking lot is just beginning to crawl with mice? He's gonna call a few people in Pennsylvania, and then he's gonna call his chief, and then, by mutual agreement, they are going to call the Ghostbusters.
Where that truck is he doesn't know, but he wants it gone.
